JOIN OR DIE (film)

I'm still attempting to build out the #ReunionAmerica concept and program.

My current working goal is to rebuild social capital within and between demographically diverse constituencies.

The strategy is to draw people into a community service projects that are essential concerns for everyone in a manner that allows them to temporarily put aside their politically polarized framing of an issue.

I think the "proof of concept" should be a local project involving the natural environment.

While Democrats tend to focus on addressing the human causes of global climate change, Republicans, particularly from rural areas, have - at least since the time of Teddy Roosevelt - been involved in the  conservation of natural resources.

This afternoon, a friend and I are going to see a screening of Join or Die,. a film arguing for the strong connection between voluntary organizations, social capital, and civic cohesion in a democratic society.

This screening is being hosted by the Morristown NJ Brickyard (Chapter) of +MorePerfectUnion (+MPU).

I believe +MPU is a solid candidate for the delivery of this program and one - admittedly long-term - goal I would consider is helping organize a Bethlehem or Lehigh Valley "Brickyard."
